about
We are a student-run design club that collaborate on environmental and community design projects to support both public spaces and the people who use them, using art to make towns more connected and vibrant.
our story
Gabriela Iwuc and Aryn Ryu met as high schoolers at Bergen County Academies in Hackensack, NJ. Bonding over a shared passion art and spacial design, they found themselves constantly paying attention to the world around them, the way spaces are laid out, the way they feel, and the way they shape everyday life for the people in them.
As students, they were drawn to questions that went beyond the classroom: why do some public spaces bring people together while others go completely unnoticed? What does it actually take to make a place feel like it belongs to its community? Those questions eventually turned into action, and LocalHue was born — built on the belief that students don't have to wait to make a difference. They have the ideas, the energy, and the perspective to shape the spaces around them right now.
